Distributions

Our releases are built on Debian 5 (Lenny). From 1.1 onwards, we fully support the following distributions for installing and using OpenPanel:

  • Debian 5(Lenny)
  • Debian 6 (Squeeze)
  • Ubuntu 10.04 (Lucid)
  • Ubuntu 10.10 (Maverick)

If you find anything that breaks on any of the distributions in this list, let us know. We will fix it with high priority.

Newer Ubuntu releases may work too; let us know!

Longer term we plan to support the following RPM-based distros:

  • RedHat Enterprise 5
  • RedHat Enterprise 6
  • CentOS 5 and 6
  • SuSE Enterprise Linux

There are no current plans for distributions / operating systems that do not use either dpkg or RPM-based packaging.
