Road Map

We intend to continue developing OpenPanel until all relevant hosting processes can be controlled by it. We hope the community will have a large influence on the development of OpenPanel, both by providing feedback and contributing to the code base. If you want to contribute or cooperate, don't hesitate to contact us at development@openpanel.com.

These features are on the top of the list for upcoming development:

  • Optional integrated installation of more web-based system tools like phpmyadmin, webmail.
  • Improvements to the GUI and form layouts1
  • Product templates
  • User object/data backups
  • Better integration with the mailinglist module
  • WASP module for installing and updating web applications
  • IP and SSL allocation to individual domains
1Because this process involves a major revamp of the code it may seem that GUI bugs are not resolved quickly

After the 1.0 release we will work towards larger features like clustering, virtualization, accounting, support tickets, CRM. We will also make it easy to link to external accounting and issue tracking software.
